Dr Victoria McKay is the Founder and Director of Paediatric People. She saw a pressing need to improve healthcare for children by offering each child and their family genuine, responsive care from a team of experts.
She designed Paediatric People as a unique clinic for babies, children and young adults. Here we offer the strength of highly experienced professionals, working together as one team, to deliver care handmade for each child.
Dr Victoria has a deep understanding of child health. She has worked extensively across the private and public sector, from catching babies and seeing children with physical illness in the emergency department and hospital wards, through to work in the community with unsettled babies, children with neurodiversity, and teens with mental health and eating disorders. She has held positions at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Monash Medical Centre and Peninsula Health in Melbourne.
She was a founding paediatrician at the Children’s Health Wellbeing Local at Monash Health, and in the Strengthening Care for Children project at the Royal Children’s Hospital and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and graduated with honours (MBBS (Hons)) from the University of Sydney.
She holds a special interest in developmental behavioural paediatrics and mental health, and is dedicated to helping all young people achieve optimal health and happiness.
She knows every child is different and celebrates this.
Victoria lives with her husband and two children in Melbourne and loves good food, good books and roller-blading.
