Fees and payments

Current fees

Please refer to our current fee schedule here (PDF, 205kb).

Payment methods

All payments must be made via credit card/EFTPOS, or by using a payment link sent to you. We do not accept cash or direct bank transfers for payment.

For payments from third parties, such as DFFH and TAC, please contact the practice directly.

Services outside appointments

We appreciate your understanding that our clinicians cannot provide medical advice via email or outside of scheduled appointments. Your child is our top priority, and we want to ensure that they receive the best care possible.

If something comes up outside a scheduled appointment, please contact us. We can normally organise an appointment at relatively short notice to address your issue.

Prescription repeats

Our doctors may be able to provide repeat prescriptions without an appointment if it is medically safe to do so.

Patients must have had an appointment with Paediatric People clinic within the last 6 months.

Requests for repeat scripts can be lodged here.

Please note, changes to dosage or type of medication can only be made in an appointment.

Medical reports and forms

If you need a medical report or form completed outside an appointment, please contact us.

We will inform you of any associated fees, which must be settled prior to receiving your completed form.

Pre-payment for all Telehealth appointments (new and review bookings)

For telehealth appointments, we require pre-payment 7 days before the appointment date.

The exception to this is for appointments being scheduled in the next 7 days – in this case, payment will be required within 48 hours of scheduling the appointment, or 48 hours prior to the appointment (whichever is the earliest).

  • How to make your pre-payment
You will receive a link to make an online payment by text and email before your appointment. Once paid, you will receive confirmation of your payment by email.

  • What happens if I don’t make the pre-payment?
If we do not receive pre-payment for an appointment for your child, we will attempt to contact you. If we are unable to reach you or if we do not receive prepayment 48 hours prior to your appointment, unfortunately your child’s appointment will be cancelled so we can offer the appointment to one of the patients on our waitlist.

We will let you know by phone, SMS and/or email that the appointment has been cancelled.

  • What happens if my appointment fee does not cost as much as I have prepaid?
We will process a refund for the difference to you, through the card used for your initial payment.

  • What if I need longer with my clinician on the day?
If you need longer with your clinician, in which case the appointment fee is greater than you have prepaid, your clinician will advise you that a further amount is being incurred, before proceeding. This additional amount is due on the day of your appointment.

Medicare and Claiming

We are a private practice. We do not bulk bill directly to Medicare.

Subject to Medicare eligibility, a Medicare rebate can be claimed by a responsible party who is linked to the patient on Medicare.

By law, the patient (the child) must be present to claim a Medicare rebate for all medical appointments. This applies to telehealth and face-to-face appointments. Private appointments are available if your child is unable to attend, or at your request.

In most cases, we can process your Medicare claim once your appointment is completed, and the rebate will be paid into your nominated bank account with Medicare in 2-5 business days.

GP appointments and Medicare

A referral is not required to see or claim a Medicare rebate with our Specialist GPs.

If your first appointment at Paediatric People is with one of our GPs, you and your child must attend the appointment in person to receive a Medicare rebate.

Paediatrician appointments and Medicare

A referral is required to claim a Medicare rebate for all paediatrician appointments. Generally, a referral from a GP is valid for 12 months, while a referral from a specialist is valid for 3 months.
