Movement Clinic
Physiotherapy and Podiatry working with our medical team
Helping children to move well
Let’s move
Babies and children move in many ways.
Sometimes you may notice something about the way your child walks, runs or uses their body. They may be experiencing pain, struggling to keep up, walking on their toes, tripping or finding sport harder than expected.
Sometimes you simply want to know whether what you are seeing is part of normal development.
The Movement Clinic team
Our clinicians carefully consider how your baby or child moves and what will make a difference for them.
Movement concerns don't always fit neatly into one box.
We look beyond a single symptom to understand your child’s movement in the context of their development, health, activities and individual needs.
You have a team
Our physiotherapist and podiatrist draw on different areas of expertise to assess your child’s movement, function, feet and lower limbs.
And because the Movement Clinic is part of Paediatric People, our allied health clinicians can involve our paediatricians and specialist GPs when there is a medical or developmental question that needs a closer look.

Our Movement Clinic can support babies, children and young people with concerns including:
Crawling, walking or running differently

How it works
-
You can book online for Ms Cass Skilton (physio) here, and for Dr Antoni Caserta (podiatrist) here.
-
You can take your first steps by filling out an enquiry form here. Our team reviews your child’s information and recommends the clinician best placed to see them first.
For many children attending the Movement Clinic, that will be a physiotherapist or podiatrist.
Alternatively, we may recommend you see our nurse, GP or paediatrician first.
-
Your clinician will assess your child's movement in the context of their age, development and the things they need and want to do.
Assessment may include observing functional movements such as walking, squatting, toe and heel walking and balance, alongside developmental and physical assessment as appropriate.
-
We will explain what we see and what we think will help.
That might mean reassurance, practical strategies, exercises or therapy, footwear advice, ongoing physiotherapy or podiatry, or further assessment.
-
If there is something about your child's movement that needs further medical assessment, our team can involve a specialist GP or paediatrician.
You don't need to work out which professional your child needs before you come to us.
We do that with you.
