How it works

  • Complete our new patient form.

This helps us understand your child’s situation and needs so that we can create the best plan for their care.

  • A clinician looks at your child’s situation and works out the right first step.

  • This is typically with a specialist GP, with particular expertise in eating disorders. This is a key step in linking your child with the right professionals, identifying and targeting relevant health issues, and supporting you to navigate the - sometimes complex - health system

  • We provide your young person with an individualised plan to best address their unique needs. Working as a team means we can ensure your child is seen promptly, so you can know you are on the right track to support your child’s recovery.

We ensure your child sees a paediatrician at critical points in their care journey e.g., if they are unwell or need to progress through their Eating Disorder Management Plan.

We work carefully to ensure that you feel confident to know what is happening, when.

  • Prompt and responsive care if your child needs closer support.
In-house care-team meetings to ensure the whole Paediatric People team is aligned in understanding your child.
    Meetings with your external providers.

We collaborate with your child’s team, so we are all on the same page. We also make sure you know where to go, when - in the situation that your child needs more support.
